DEFRA announce new Packaging Waste recycling targets

Defra has confirmed its intention that packaging waste recovery and recycling targets for the UK will increase from 2008 onwards.

Defra hope that the new overall recovery targets of 72% in 2008, 73% in 2009 and 74% in 2010 will help the UK cut its carbon emissions, and meet its 2008 EU target of recycling at least 60% of packaging waste. To find out more please see the Defra website
